
Jeff Pitkin

Jeff Pitkin previously served as Treasurer (Chief Financial Officer) of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) from 2001-2021, and as its Controller and Assistant Treasurer from 1991-2001. Mr. Pitkin was responsible for financial, operational, and administrative support functions. Mr. Pitkin also managed NYSERDA’s tax exempt financing program, which issued more than $2 billion in tax-exempt revenue bonds on a conduit basis for New York State investor-owned utilities to finance pollution control and local furnishing facilities.
Mr. Pitkin also managed NYSERDA’s Residential Financing (Green Jobs – Green New York) Program, which issued $413 million in loans for residential energy efficiency and renewable energy projects from 2001-2021, and managed several revenue bond issues, private placement transactions, and loan participation sales to re-capitalize the program’s revolving loan fund. Mr. Pitkin was also actively involved in the development, implementation, and oversight of NY Green Bank, a division of NYSERDA and investment fund dedicated to filling financing gaps in clean energy and sustainable infrastructure markets. Launched in 2013 with $1 billion in capitalization, NY Green Bank deployed over $2 billion in capital commitments in its first 10 years of operation.
Mr. Pitkin was a member of the Investment and Risk Committee, and presently serves as a member of NY Green Bank’s Advisory Committee. Currently, Mr. Pitkin provides consulting services for state clean energy financing programs and is a Senior Advisor – Financing for the National Association of State Energy Officials.
Prior to NYSERDA, Mr. Pitkin was Controller for a national music and entertainment retailer and was a certified public accountant with an international public accounting firm. Mr. Pitkin received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Siena College (Loudonville, NY).
