Drew Biondo

Mr. Biondo is an Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Intergovernmental Relations for the Suffolk County Police Department. With over three decades of experience, Mr. Biondo has served as a strategic communications and government relations executive and administrator in both the public and private sectors.

Previously, Mr. Biondo served as the Director of Communications at Suffolk County Community College – New York State’s largest community college. Before joining the Suffolk County Community College President’s staff, Mr. Biondo served as Director of Communications and Press Secretary for now-retired New York State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle.

Mr. Biondo’s professional experience in the communications field includes tenures with the Torrenzano Group, a leading New York City strategic communications firm; Delta Financial Corporation, a publicly traded company, where Mr. Biondo served as Director of Corporate Communications; the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office serving as Assistant to the District Attorney and Director of Communications; and Vice President at the Henry Sheinkopf Communications firm, where he worked on media strategies and communications for a diverse array of clients.

Mr. Biondo is a graduate of Long Island University Post with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.

*This is Mr. Biondo’s second appointment to the LIPA Board of Trustees. In January 2018, Mr. Biondo was appointed by the New York State Senate Majority Leader and held the position for five years through March of 2023. Mr. Biondo also served on the Governance, Planning and Personnel Committee.
