HURRICANE EARL
Thursday, September 2, 6:00PM - As
Hurricane Earl continues to approach our region, the
National Weather Service has issued a tropical storm warning
for Suffolk County and a tropical storm watch for Nassau
County. LIPA continues to urge customers to make appropriate
preparations. Storm safety and preparedness tips are
available in our
Hurricane Safety section. LIPA has established
staging areas for restoration efforts, and will supplement
our own crews with more than 1,600 line repair and tree
removal workers from outside the area. As new information
develops we will update our customers via our Web site,
e-mail, radio and, outbound phone calls. Visit the

LIPA Board Names New Chief
Operating Officer
August 26, 2010 - Today, the LIPA Board of Trustees
appointed Michael Hervey, Senior VP of Operations, as the
Chief Operating Officer (COO) of LIPA. Following the
departure of current CEO Kevin Law on September 6, 2010, Mr.
Hervey will perform the duties of CEO during the interim
period until a new President and CEO is appointed by the
LIPA Board and confirmed by the New York State Senate.
