Only products delivering the highest level of energy efficiency are awarded the ENERGY STAR from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy.

This year LIPA has teamed up with the EPA to promote the most efficient ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers on the market. By purchasing an ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washer with this rebate instead of a conventional model, you can save on average $85 in energy and water costs each year – that’s $850 over the life of the washer! In addition, you can save on average 8,453 gallons of water per year – that’s 84,530 gallons over the life of the washer!

2008 Rebate Applications Between 1/1/08-12/31/08, the following mail-in rebates are available to LIPA residential customers: $50 back on the purchase of eligible ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers with a Modified Energy Factor (MEF) of 2.2 and higher and a Water Factor (WF) of 4.5 or less.
