Prescriptive Approach
The Prescriptive component provides incentives for choosing equipment from a pre-qualified list of electric energy-efficient measures.

• Energy efficient lighting and controls
• Heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment
• Premium efficiency motors
• Variable speed drives (VSD)

Annual financial incentives may go up to $100,000 per project; $300,000 per customer.

Custom Approach
The Custom component provides incentives and also the flexibility to choose unique measures not on the Prescriptive equipment rebate list. Annual financial incentives may go up to $300,000 per building; $900,000 for up to a total of three Custom and/or Comprehensive Whole Building Projects in a single calendar year.

Whole Building Design Approach
Whole Building Design is the most comprehensive approach in which you, your building design team and LIPA-supported experts work together – from concept to completion – to develop an energy efficiency plan specifically designed for your entire building. As with Custom, annual financial incentives may go up to $300,000 per building; $900,000 for up to three Custom and/or Whole Building Projects in a calendar year.

Both Custom and Whole Building Design provide up to $10,000 in Technical Assistance services, including consultants to help you choose and implement energy-efficient measures and equipment. For more complex projects, LIPA will provide 50 percent of any additional costs, up to $50,000.
