LIPA’s Commercial Construction Program was created with the
needs of Long Island businesses such as yours in mind. Lower
operating costs and increased efficiency offer savings, a key
component to success on Long Island. LIPA’s incentives help to
lower the cost of purchasing energy-efficient measures. *

Once the audit is complete
you will receive incentives for qualifying measures,
including

HVAC, to help offset your costs.
Commercial Construction Program
There are three paths in the Commercial Construction Program;
each one designed to fit the needs of a particular customer
Prescriptive ApproachOffers
incentives for choosing equipment from a pre-qualified list
of energy-efficient measures.
Custom Approach
Provides
technical assistance, incentives and the flexibility to
choose unique measures not on the Prescriptive list.
Whole Building Design
Approach
A comprehensive approach in which you, your building
design team and LIPA-supported experts work together, from
concept to completion, to develop an energy efficiency plan
specially designed for your entire building.
Not-For-Profit
Organizations
In addition to the offerings listed above, there are
additional incentives for qualifying Not-for-Profits.
Commercial Construction Incentives
Building
Commissioning Incentives
For selected projects and technologies, LIPA can offset the
cost of having third party commissioning performed. LIPA’s
Technical Assistants can review the design and perform
functional tests to ensure that the equipment is designed,
installed and operating in an energy efficient manner
consistent with the owners requirements and design intent.
Green Building Incentives
Participation in LIPA’s Commercial Construction Program can
help building owners meet the requirements of LEED
Certification for Green Buildings. Whole building energy
modeling, building commissioning, and financial incentives
for energy efficiency, renewable energy and green power are
available under this program.
New Buildings
For new buildings that are still in the conceptual stage, or
for existing facilities that are expanding or will undergo
significant renovations, LIPA offers a comprehensive approach,
including design assistance and building scenario modeling.

Additional Information
If the design process is well underway customers can receive
financial incentives for selection of individual technologies
from a list of qualifying measures. In all cases the program is
designed to complement a customer’s needs and time schedule.
The Commercial Construction Program is designed to add value
- not time or complexity.

customer agrees that LIPA obtains and/or retains ownership of
all rights to existing and future emissions credits, renewable
energy credits, green tags, tradable renewable certificates
and/or any and all other environmental benefits associated with
the installation of the eligible equipment.
