Draft LIPA Energy Master Plan 2008-2017

LIPA Energy Plan 2004-2013

On January 31, 2008, Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) President and CEO Kevin S. Law kicked off the development of the 2008-2017 LIPA Energy Master Plan. LIPA intends to use the following process to develop the plan:
  1. Publish a draft outline of the Energy Master Plan contents.
  2. Solicit public input on the draft outline.
  3. Develop a Draft Energy Master Plan based on the outline and the public input received.
  4. Hold public hearings on the Draft Energy Master Plan.
  5. Revise the plan based on the public hearings and new information that may become available after the preparation of the Draft. Issue a Final Energy Master Plan for the consideration by the LIPA Board of Trustees.

Public hearings will be held throughout Long Island during late February and early March. Public comments will be accepted on the Draft Outline until one week after the last hearing. The purpose of the hearings and public input is to assure that the planned content of the Draft report is complete and covers the options, technologies and strategies that LIPA should evaluate during the development of the Draft LIPA Energy Master Plan.
