Broadwater
LNG: A Technical Assessment
On July 31, 2007, LIPA released a report
by Levitan & Associates, Inc. regarding
the proposed Broadwater LNG Terminal.
LIPA/KeySpan 2006 Agreements
On January 26, 2006, the LIPA Board of
Trustees approved a set of agreements
with KeySpan that extended the
Management Services Agreement, set out a
new power plant purchase option for LIPA
and resolved certain outstanding
financial issues.
LIPA/National Grid Proposed 2007
Agreement
In connection with the potential
acquisition of KeySpan by National Grid,
on March 23, 2007, an Agreement in
Principle was reached with National
Grid/KeySpan on a series of
contract-related issues that will
provide significant ratepayer,
reliability and repowering or power
plant emission reduction benefits to
LIPA’s electric customers and to the
Long Island region.
LIPA Voluntarily Files Petitions with PSC
LIPA has voluntarily filed with New York
State’s Public Service Commission (PSC)
two petitions seeking PSC review of
LIPA’s fuel surcharge.

The purpose of the review was to decide
whether the
Authority, as currently organized and
governed, was in the best position to
provide Long Island with reliable power
at the lowest cost over the long-term.
